From the downbeat of their first gig on September, 20th 2001, it was clear that Philadelphia's best kept secret was a secret no more. Billed then under the name Dave Pittenger, the band quickly grew into a unit, each member with his own unique musical contributions, and the name Dave Pittenger Band was adopted.
Two years after its inception, the band decided it was time to commit their sound to tape- Photographs to Nowhere was the result. Recorded, mixed and mastered between tour dates during the first half of 2003 by an all-star cast of engineers and producers, Photographs to Nowhere showcases the versatility of their ever-evolving sound and has garnered an amazing response from fans and critics alike. The songs offer something for everyone, from the high energy of Honey and 20 Questions to the feel good rhythms of Think About It and Alright, the thoughtfulness of Tijuana and Funny and the jammin' on Six8. The band explores different textures of sound and instrumentation, all the while keeping it distinctly Dave Pittenger Band.
They have performed with many national and regional touring acts and have been chosen to represent the first wave of independent bands that will be featured side-by-side with national acts on realmagictv.com, a site featuring concert footage and interviews with major artists. The Dave Pittenger Band is definitely one of those groups that are guarunteed to break into the mainstream and shake things up a bit. |
