Joe Kim, a Philadelphia native and resident, received his B.A. in Film and Media Arts from Temple University, where he completed the controversial film, The Coloreds: An XploitAsian Film. The short addressed racial stereotypes in a new spin on “blaxploitation" films. Among his other works, he has served as Assistant Director/Producer for music video and Blue Fire, an independent feature that was shown in various venues in New York City. He is currently in pre-production on A Primer a short from theperspective of two disenchanted Asian American males. Also in the works is a feature length script showing the dark side of Asian America. |
