The wise proverb stating “nothing happens before its time” easily lends itself to the career struggle and successes of Jamaican artist KC Jockey. He has experienced his greatest in 2003 appearing on the “Beware of the Boys” remix featuring Jay-Z and Punjabi MC and his single “Diggy Diggy” featuring Elephant Man. KC is the godson of renowned Jamaican actor Carl Bradshaw and veteran reggae artists Marcia Griffiths and Bob Andy. The name KC Jockey stems from his father who was a football coach at Kingston College (KC) and Jockey because of his superb “riddim” riding ability. KC’s first single was released on Stereo Pride label called "Ah Na Mi Name Boopsie" and “Don’t Give Me No Crack” in the 90’s. Last year, his “Diggy Diggy” video was played on rotation on BET. His single “Need Love” featuring Luciano and “Look Good Machine” are both being distributed through Koch Records. KC has also released a single with Murder Inc.’s artist Black Child. He is easy to find due to a hectic tour schedule where you can find him performing with Elephant Man, Beenie Man, and Bounty Killer. He also performed with Ginuwine, 50 cent, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, and Fabolous. With his tight production skills, his company “Sweet Sadie” (named after his mother who passed in a car accident), his live show performance, his colorful rhythms, and his vocal ability, KC is a force to reckon with. |
